Outfit Post – Sequins!

I loveeeeee dinner parties! During this festive season, I’ve had dinner parties galore! Last night I went to a work mate’s place and they cooked a feast for us. They also recently had a new born – she is so cute and has the longest eyelashes. I wore a sequins skirt and my ccSkye mini spiked bracelet, both of which were not exactly ‘baby friendly’. Next time I would have to re-consider my outfit if there are going to be babies around!

About this sequins skirt, it would be so much better if it was an inch or two longer. I spent the whole night pulling and tugging at it because I felt like it was too short but I still think it looks pretty good. Again, I bought this skirt before my ’13 items a year’ challenge so it would be a while before I can buy another one!

Just an update on my wardrobe situation – I’ve CULLED half my wardrobe already but I still have so much crap in it! I don’t understand why! I feel like I’m forever cleaning and forever culling. Just THINKING about listing the clothes on ebay is enough to make me feel exhausted! Round 2 culling is underway today! Will keep you posted!

After ROUND 1 culling! - Still so cluttered!

Outfit Post – Metallic Grey Tweed Jacket

When I went to Zara the other day I spotted this metallic grey tweed jacket straight away! It also comes in black which is the one I have been on the look out for. I decided to try on the grey jacket anyways in a size S to see if I like the cut. The jacket looked very elegant on. The photos doesn’t do the jacket justice because the material is actually more metallic than it appears. I found the size S sleeves to be way too long. I was lucky to find a XS on the changing racks where people dumped their unwanted items.

Outfit Post – Thurley Asymmetric Tee

This Thurley Asymmetric tee is actually a long top but I wear it as a dress because I’m not very tall. I love the sparkles on the dress! This tee also comes in white but it is very see-through. I think the black is more versatile!

Outfit Post – Day at Daylesford

My boy and I took a stroll by the Lakehouse in Daylesford. It is such a beautiful and tranquil place. Congratulations to Pat and Lucy who got married at the Convent. Restaurant recommendations at Daylesford are:

1. Wombat House – Amazing breakfast! The ambience is just so lovely and quaint. Try the breakfast pizza!

2. The Farmer’s Arm – We had such a lovely lunch there – the snapper with rocket salad was to die for!

3. Breakfast and beer – Don’t be fooled by the name – they don’t just serve breakfast! Dinner was absolutely delicious but it is quite a small place so bookings are essential. The duck dish is a must!

Outfit post – Sportsgirl skirt

20120125-191840.jpg

I’ve been wearing this Sportsgirl skirt heaps! I recently taken up dancing lessons (well, about a year now – but I’m so embarrassed to admit that I still dance like a beginner) and since I can’t be bothered changing at dance class, I just wear this Sportsgirl skirt to work. It is slightly short for work but my work place is quite casual anyways. Also I actually didn’t end up wearing the Zara heels as shown in the pictures as I thought it looked to matchy matchy and too much black with gold. Instead, I wore my plain black Witchery snake skin heels.

Today’s outfit was inspired by blogger Tuula. She is absolutely gorgeous.

Clutch Bags

If you are searching for something different to the classic Chanel flap bag, here’s a few options.

1. Dolce & Gabbana Mini Miss Sicily bag
2. Celine Classic Box bag
3. Dior Miss Dior bag

I see girls walking down the street with the classic Chanel flap bag more frequently these days than any other designer bag of that class. If you are looking for a classic iconic bag but don’t want to be carrying the same bag as the girl next to you, then I suggest why not try on the Dolce & Gabbana, Celine or Dior bag next time! I personally love the Miss Dior! It’s on my wish list…maybe it will be 1 of my 13 items that I purchase this year!

Stripy Top

Being on a shopping ban is a bit like being on a diet. I don’t think I’ve ever felt the urge to own a stripy top but now that I’m on a ban I just want to buy everything in my sight! Just like when I go on a junk-free diet, I just end up wanting to eat EVERYTHING – including things that don’t normally interest me!

But seriously though, how gorgeous is this outfit with the bag?

Outfit Post – Seeing Spots

Given the continuous hot weather we are currently experiencing in Melbourne, I chose to wear something easy and breezy!

I thought the pleat detail of the blouse matched the pleated polka dot skirt perfectly and I threw on a blazer and went out the door.

House of Harlow 1960 Pyramid Station Necklace

I first saw Nicole Richie wearing the Pyramid Station Necklace in the picture above. I instantly loved it. I am so excited that I finally found it online!!!

It is similar to the House of Harlow Black Resin Necklace which has been a popular favourite since the launch of the brand.

Which do you prefer?

Outfit Post – Loving my Miu Miu

20120124-184957.jpg

20120124-185008.jpg

20120124-185016.jpgI finally went to see my hairdresser today for a much needed haircut! I think it was August the last time I had a cut and my hair is completely out of control. I discovered my hairdresser a couple of years ago and although I’ve strayed from her a few times, I always end up going back to her. I’ve had disastrous haircuts in asia and was so embarrassed to come back and had to get my hairdresser to fix my hair. I’ve also strayed a few times in Melbourne too only to find out the hard way to never stray again!

My hairdresser spotted the Miu Miu bag I was carrying today and she was in lurvveeee. She called Miu Miu and they said there would be more stock arriving in a couple of days! So for those of you who are interested in this bag call and reserve one!

By the way, the grey and white combo in this outfit was inspired by Olivia. I still can’t get over how gorgeous she is. Plus, I want those Mulberry leopard print heels. BUT I need to exercise some self control in order to have any chance in succeeding in my “13 items a year” challenge!

My Outfit:

  • Miu Miu Bag – Madras collection
  • Zara Blouse
  • Zara Shoes
  • Belt from open closet
  • Topshop Grey chinos (These chinos are the older version of Mel’s chinos she wore in this post. I think I actually like the new version more. I’ve also worn my chinos here)
