Hi Rowena!

Mel: I purchased the Forever New leather shorts in size 6. I originally tried on the size 4 which fitted tightly but like you, I didn’t want it to be too tight especially if I sat down I could foresee it being very uncomfortable. I am happy with my decision to go up a size because the size 6 is much more comfortable on. While it is fitted on me, I am still able to move in it and not feel constricted.

Elle: I bought the leather shorts in size 8. I fit size 6 to 8 in Forever New clothing normally. I have slightly bigger hips than Mel therefore although I fit the size 6, I thought it looked tacky on my bodyshape and opted for size 8 instead. Personally I prefer them slightly looser so going up a size was my preference.

Hi!! That’s a great purchase! Trench coats are great for the Autumn and Spring seasons when the weather is neither extremely hot nor cold. They are light and comfortable to wear.

So, first things first – below are some tips on how to wear a trench:

1. Tie the belt: never buckle!
2. Undo EVERYTHING i.e. do not button up the trench – just wrap it tightly around you and then tie it if you decide to wear it closed.
3. Turn up the collar
4. Roll up the sleeves

TOPS: Since your trench has blue, cream and purple colours we would definitely stick to block colored shirts (Equipment has some great silk shirts), silk blouses or jumpers in either black, white, cream, grey and possibly even blue. We would suggest a blue that is in a different shade to the blue on your trench. We would definitely not recommend wearing stripes or printed tops as the trench pattern is checked and could make it look very busy.

BOTTOMS: Any black pants (Cue has some great black tapered pants at the moment), jeans or skirts would go with the trench. If you are wearing a skirt, perhaps you can pair it with black opaque stockings for slightly colder days.

DRESSES: Dresses can definitely be worn underneath your trench but once again stick to neutral, block colors and nothing with prints.

SHOES: We prefer wearing trench coast with heels whether it be pumps or booties. As the coat is usually long in length, we think wearing something with heels is more flattering and makes the outfit look a lot more dressier.
